5.0 out of 5 stars it looks like a pastel purple but.., March 12, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
play date is much prettier than just a pastel purple. i can't even explain how much i adore this color. everyone and their grandmother compliments me when i wear it! i love essie because i have real nails, and essie polish chips less frequently on real nails (as opposed to say opi or chanel for example). if you want to try on a funky color that's unique- i suggest you buy it!

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty color, but darker than it appears to be, May 23, 2012

This review is from: Essie Go Overboard 782 Nail Polish (Health and Beauty)
The color is nice, it just seems to look darker in person compared to the color it looks like online. I originally ordered to use it as a summer color, but will save for fall/winter time, as it is a darker shade.

5.0 out of 5 stars So Cool, December 2, 2008
I bought this set at our state fair in Minnesota. Of course they made it look so simple when they did my nails for me so I was a bit skeptical but when I got it home and my daughter and I tried it-it worked fabulous. You do have to know how to use it to be successful. Follow the directions exactly. I don't know why the previous person had troubles with nail polish all over the plate. You only put enough polish on the desigen you want and then scrape excess polish off with the scraper, roll the stamper over the polish and then roll onto your nail. It really works and the designs are so cool. You can clean the stamp plate off with nail polish remover. If you have trouble getting the polish onto the red stamper because it is too smooth and new, just rough the red rubber part up with a nail file and this should do the trick. It worked for us when we were having problems. I brought this set with me when we had a girls weekend out and we did our nails and all my girlfriends... Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Starter Kit is Cool but not necessary, February 21, 2011

When I wanted to start doing Konad Nail Art Stamping I figured I'd get this starter kit that comes with 3 different mini colors and two image plates and the stamper and scraper but after using it for a little bit its cheaper to just get the individual products.

I happen to use the white color a lot because it shows and contrasts the best versus the red and blue ink I don't find myself using at all. The stamper is a bit big and with everyone's advice with getting the double sided stamper I should have just started with that. I just bought the white color only in a bigger bottle.

I did like the two plates that came up with the kit but realized that eventually I'm gonna go for the large image set and now I'll have two of those already.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended, May 6, 2009
I just recently discovered the Konad nail stamping system, and I must say that I think that it's great. With a little bit of practice, it becomes quite easy to create some really attractive nail designs. Now, I must admit that I had a friend who was already something of a Konad expert, and she was able to get me up to speed quite quickly, which is a great thing if you can find such a person. If not, go to the website or YouTube, and watch the videos they will help a lot.

So, my advice is to buy this kit, watch the videos, and then become a nail artist. I highly recommend this kit!

4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, April 7, 2011

This review is from: Piggy Paint Forever Fancy (Pink) The Kid-Friendly, Non-Toxic Nailpolish! (Toy)
I purchased this color and a few others with the idea that they were for my two year-old daughter's Easter basket so I can paint her nails this summer (I would NEVER use regular polish on a child). However, I liked some of the colors so I decided to try them myself. I have always hated the way my hands smell after I use my regular "adult" nail polish. When I pull the lid off the container I keep my polish and remover in, it's enough to kill a small horse. I also had serious concerns about using regular polish when I was pregnant with my daughter and nursing her due to the horrible chemicals that are in regular polish and the fumes they give off. Beyond that, more and more medical reports are concluding that nail polish fumes and chemicals may be unsafe. So, I tried piggy paint myself and WOW -- I really like them! No, it doesn't wear exactly the same/as well as OPI and other top regular brands. BUT, the trade-off makes that such a petty concern. Your health and that of your family vs... Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars I don't agree that it's non-toxic, May 30, 2012

This product is labeled as non-toxic, but I have concerns about ingredients. The third ingredient is Neolone 950. That's a trademark name for methylisothiazolinone which is a slow-releasing bactericide. It's rated a 6/"moderately hazardous" in the Skin Deep database. Its use is restricted in cosmetics in Canada and Japan and there's a 2002 article in the Journal of Neuroscience about its neurotoxic properties (Du, S., B.A. McLaughlin, S. Pal and E. Aizenman. In vitro neurotoxicity of methylisothiazolinone, a commonly used industrial and household biocide, proceeds via a zinc and ERK MAPK-dependent pathway. J. Neurosci. 2002; 22, 7408-7416.). I'm sharing this because like most people interested in Piggy Paint, I wanted to get it for my daughter because it is "kid-friendly" and "non-toxic". And, yes, it's great to have a formaldehyde-free product, but I don't think the preservative used is as safe and non-toxic as it is made out to be.

I would recommend that if you are interested in this product, you know the following: You must use several coats. You must use the top coat. You must understand it will likely flake off quite quickly. I thought it was something I could use for myself while my baby was young because it contained fewer chemicals and might not be so bad if she put my fingers in her mouth. However, I put it on and it was flaking off just a few hours later. In the end it's best to get this product for your children and know that it is really just for fun, not for fashion.
